Educational Programmes

The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is the most competent organisation in the United States which is a federation of 28 professional engineering societies.

Over 1,500 engineering and 700 technological educational programmes offered by American higher education institutions have been accredited through the ABET. The ABET encourages and assists in the development of accreditation systems in other countries leading to graduates with an engineering education “substantially equivalent” to that in the United States.

Today over 70 educational programmes offered by universities of Germany, Holland, Turkey, Singapore, Mexico, and other countries have been acknowledged by ABET. Taking into account the fact that the ABET is a leader of Washington Accord, it can be expected that international accreditation of educational programmes in engineering and technology will result in the glamour market of educational services.

Tomsk Polytechnic University has accredited two educational programmes. Electrical Engineering programme was accredited through the ABET (USA) and Computer Engineering through CCPE (Canada). Taganrog State Radioengineering University also accredited its Computer Engineering programme in the ABET.
